School excursion - a funny and interesting thing
Hi, my Name is Leonie.
Have you missed school excursions? I really did, so let me tell you about ours.
Two buses took us to Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The footpath up to our youth hostel Zwölferblick, directly on the slopes, was very steep and exhausting. One good thing was, that our luggage and skis were taken up to the accommodation. We had a great view of the village. Now the adventure could begin.
The Skicircus Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn is really huge with almost endless slopes and modern lifts. We had perfect conditions for skiing in the morning, because the snow was still hard. Due to spring-like temperatures, the snow was quite soft in the afternoon.
On the first day we were divided into different groups. In the morning and afternoon we always went skiing. After dinner we had free time. In the evening we played some games, listened to music, talked about this and that, or went to a pub in the village.
On Thursday we could circle the full area by not taking two times the same slope, thanks to the perfect lift connections. We ate lunch at one of the lovely huts, where traditional dishes were offered.
As distance learning prevented the creation of a good class community, this school excursion offered us the opportunity to get to know each other better in a relaxed surrounding. I made new friends and it was nice to spend free time with them.
Sunshine and perfect pistes - our school excursion in Saalbach-Hinterglemm was fantastic.
